ZAFAYCO is a non – governmental, non profit –making membership organization established by two graduate youth after the realization of difficult and huge challenges facing them in 2011 and got its registration the same year Dec. 23, 2011 under Registration No. 1047 under the societies Act No.6 of 1995, known as “Zanzibar Fighting Against Youth Challenges Organization” now a group of youth became active in playing role in the development of their society.
ZAFAYCO leaders acording to Constitution are hierarchically arranged from Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Executive Director, Deputy Director, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer and Coordinator.
ZAFAYCO is dedicated towards promoting young people through awareness raising, capacity building and networking programs which are youth centered, environmental friendly and development oriented.
To see Zanzibar youth are very active and flexible in order that they can handle current economic, political and social challenges.
The Organization's main policy is the development of youth and women, by helping all that need help regardless of age, tribe, etc. The most pressing needs of the groups are identified through meetings with community and community leaders and possible solutions are worked out in partnership with them.
Civic education training to young people for spreading the message of peace and increase their participation in national development.
Capacity building sessions to women and youth for effective utilization of available employement opportunities and create new ones for self-employment.
Working on health challenges facing young people by increasing availability and accessibility of health quality services to all.
Environmental awareness programs that ensure sustainable use of natural resources and increasing community adaptive capacity to climate change challenges.
ZAFAYCO is one among 7 youth led organizations signed the Memorundum of Understanding (MoU) for working together in the coalition of Tanzania Youth and Adolescents Reproductive Health Coalition (TAYARH) for 3 years. The event conducted at Kebbys Hotel , Dar es Salaam.th
